Our themed chess set is a delightful surprise to everyone who receives it. An especially heartwarming gift to those in or close to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, “The Mountie Hunter” is certainly the kind of present you don’t get everyday. We have received numerous emails from satisfied customers who have given our chess set as a gift to someone close to their hearts. Choosing Sides

When playing chess with this imaginative set, one challenge might be choosing a side. Both of the sides on “The Mountie Hunter” are patriotic and noble- with one representing the modern day Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the other playing the part of the North West Mounted Police, as the RCMP was known as prior to 1920. No matter which side you play, you’re sure to notice striking detail that makes this set a true original.

Along with the eye-catching color contrast of lights and darks, the hand painted figurines feature uniforms and weapons that suit their respective eras. The pawns on the modern day Royal Canadian Mounted Police carry handguns, while the North West Mounted Police of times past dawn a sword. Both bishops hold a Winchester rifle, but the RCMP bishop’s is far more modern.
